Reflection on the investigation outcome
- Critique for the sculpture mock-up
- How is it an investigative method?
- Representing perspective from the window
- Possibilities: using functioning blocks of architecture
- Looking at graffiti – interesting way to learning about the neighbourhood
- Vandalism vs identity
- Observation: Organic, murals, tells you a lot about an area. A lot of tagging – stories, covered up
- Limited investigative methods, farther investigate by:
- Asking people about delivery, interview
- Experiment with methods of recording that weren’t photography
- Method of recording aids sight
- Photography recording of the doorway
- Doorways could be an interesting method
- Entrance as a way to understand an area
- Develop a portrait made of different businesses, lives, lifestyles
- Stack doorways to create interesting perspective
- Using squares as a frame to categorise and catalogue
- Farther consideration and exploring
- How do people want to be seen – symbolic of people behind them
- How to extrapolate meaning
- Fine-tuning on subject of Doorways – nailing a particular form and catalogue/classify the materials collected
- Be more mindful for data – all of the different lives within the area
- Stop motion – projection mapping
- Easier, quicker ways of reporting the area
- Push project further before Christmas
- Take project to office hours
- Get the project to a deeper level
Learning
- Be systematic, choose one thing and do it again
- Photography and screenshots limits what you can see
- When you experiment, you will find new connections. The most successful projects tell a story – a sense of an unfolding investigation
